Assist. Prof. Erdinç Kaygusuz Takes Part in the COST GameTable Project

Assist. Prof.  Erdinç Kaygusuz, a faculty member at Beykoz University Vocational School, has joined the “CA22145 – Computational Techniques for Tabletop Games Heritage (GameTable)” project, carried out under COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology), which supports scientific research projects across Europe.

As part of the project, Assist. Prof. Erdinç Kaygusuz will contribute to Working Group 2, titled “Cultural Heritage of Games.” Bringing together researchers from computer science, game studies, history, archaeology, and cultural heritage, the GameTable network explores how computational methods and game artificial intelligence can be used to research and reconstruct tabletop games and preserve them as part of cultural heritage.

COST Actions are four-year international collaboration networks that enable researchers and innovators from different countries to work together on shared scientific topics. The GameTable project brings researchers from different disciplines together to examine tabletop games as part of our shared cultural heritage.

Assist. Prof. Erdinç Kaygusuz also plans to incorporate the knowledge and opportunities gained through the project into the Board Games course he teaches within the Digital Game Design Program at the Faculty of Art and Design. In the course, where students design tabletop games, the aim is to develop board games inspired by Türkiye’s cultural heritage in the coming semesters.
