Climate Crisis, Post-Industrial Food Landscapes and Rural Futures

Yer: Kavacık Schools of Higher Education Campus Conference Hall

Tarih: 23-02-2026

Saat: 13:00 - 16:00

How is the climate crisis transforming our food systems? What kind of future is possible for rural communities in post-industrial landscapes?

Beykoz University is hosting Daniel Fernández Pascual and Alon Schwabe of Cooking Sections—co-founders of CLIMAVORE and nominees for the Turner Prize (2021)—to share their research on Istanbul’s water buffaloes, wetlands, and food heritage.

The panel will be moderated by Assist. Prof. Özgür Burçak Gürsoy, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Business and Administrative Sciences, whose research focuses on political economy, social policy, and rural development. Discussions will cover Cooking Sections’ international projects, the CLIMAVORE x Jameel at RCA Water Buffalo Commons (Water Buffalo Commons), and local perspectives.

The event will be held in English. Those who wish to attend can register via the link.
