Rectorate

Prof. Dr. Burak Kuntay completed his undergraduate education in Political Science and International Relations at Florida Atlantic University and obtained his master's degree in International Relations from the same university. He then completed his doctoral studies in Political Science and International Relations at Yeditepe University.

His academic research primarily focuses on the U.S. government system, U.S. foreign policy, Turkish political history, and the Middle East. After completing his internship with U.S. Senator Bill Nelson, he served as a member of the Board of Trustees and the Foundation Board at Florida Atlantic University.

Prof. Kuntay began his academic career at Yeditepe University and later held the position of President of the School of Government and Leadership and founding President of the Center for American Studies at Bahçeşehir University. He has also served for many years as the Director of the Institute of Social Sciences at Bahçeşehir University, as well as in the roles of Director of the Graduate School and as an Advisor to the Rector.

In 2019, he was awarded the 18th International Gusi Peace Prize held in the Philippines.
