
Prof. Dr. Burak Küntay completed his undergraduate studies in Political Science and International Relations at Florida Atlantic University, where he also earned his master’s degree in International Relations. He subsequently completed his Ph.D. in Political Science and International Relations at Yeditepe University.
His academic research has primarily focused on the U.S. political system, U.S. foreign policy, Turkish political history, and the Middle East. After completing an internship with U.S. Senator Bill Nelson, he served as a Member of the Board of Trustees and a Member of the Foundation Board at Florida Atlantic University.
Prof. Dr. Küntay began his academic career at Yeditepe University and later held several administrative positions at Bahçeşehir University, including Head of the School of Government and Leadership and Founding Director of the Center for American Studies. He also served for many years as Director of the Graduate School of Social Sciences, followed by appointments as Director of the Institute of Graduate Education and Rector’s Advisor.
Having previously served at Beykoz University as Director of the Institute, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, and Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Burak Küntay was appointed Rector of Beykoz University on 12 June 2025.
Prof. Dr. Küntay is also the recipient of the 18th International Gusi Peace Prize, awarded in 2019 in the Philippines.
