A Creative Step Toward a Sustainable Future from Our University on Zero Waste Day

Yer: Kavacık Schools of Higher Education Campus Conference Hall

Saat: 14:00 - 15:00

As part of International Zero Waste Day, a comprehensive student initiative is being launched at our University to raise environmental awareness and promote sustainable living practices. Organized under the theme “Design for Zero Waste,” the event aims to improve recycling habits across campus and develop creative solutions to challenges encountered in waste separation processes.

The event consists of two phases. In the first phase, a workshop will be held where students will analyze the current use of recycling bins, discuss the challenges encountered, evaluate the reasons behind improper usage, and generate ideas for more functional, clear, and user-friendly designs. Through an interdisciplinary approach, participants will address both environmental and design aspects, offering solution-oriented proposals.

In the second phase, student design teams will be formed to transform their ideas into tangible design projects under the guidance of academic advisors. The innovative recycling bin designs developed during this process are planned to be implemented across the university campus. In this way, student-generated solutions will become a direct part of daily life, creating lasting awareness.

Through this initiative, our University aims not only to strengthen environmental responsibility but also to encourage students to actively engage in addressing societal challenges as participatory, productive, and solution-oriented individuals.

We invite all our students and stakeholders to take part in this creative step toward a sustainable future.
