The “I. Gastronomy and Creativity Student Summit,” organized by the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Program of Beykoz University, will be held on May 7.
The opening speeches will be delivered by Prof. Dr. Bengisu Bayrak Shahmiri, Dean of the Faculty of Art and Design at Beykoz University, and Assist. Prof. Serap Nazır, Head of the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department.
The first session of the summit will feature a panel titled “Gastronomy Creativity: The Nobu Experience.” The session will include Ritz Carlton Nobu Restaurant Head Chef Michael De Jesus and Chef de Partie Tolga Gül as speakers, with moderation by Res. Assist. Aylin Berna Zamandar Başoğlu.
The program will also include sessions featuring academic paper presentations, as well as panels and discussion sessions bringing together academia and industry. Throughout the day, current topics such as creativity in gastronomy, sustainability, digitalization, and innovative technologies in restaurant and hotel management will be discussed.
The panel titled “Innovative Technologies in Restaurant and Hotel Management: The Casa Lavanda Experience” will be moderated by Alp Açık, with Ekin Şen and Zeynep Pınar Taşdemir as speakers. The panel “Sustainability, Digitalization, and Talent: Those Shaping the Future of the Industry” will feature Hediye Güral Gür, İsmail Cem Akar, Dr. Hakan Başdoğan, and Sabri Gülel as speakers.
This comprehensive summit, which brings together academic and industry representatives in the field of gastronomy, aims to enhance students’ creative thinking skills and strengthen their industry perspectives.
