The Stars of Sports and Arts 2025 Ceremony Held
Today marked a meaningful day at our university as we celebrated with great enthusiasm the achievements in sports and arts throughout the 2024–2025 academic year. At the “Stars of Sports and Arts Awards Ceremony 2025,” we proudly honored our students’ outstanding accomplishments across a wide spectrum—from sports to the arts.
Opening the ceremony held at the Kavacık Campus Conference Hall, our Rector Prof. Dr. Burak Küntay stated:
"Not only academic success, but also your accomplishments in the fields of sports and arts will play a key role in your career journey. The extracurricular activities you take part in during your university years become even more critical than the courses listed on your resume after graduation. As administrators, we care not only about the name of the university you graduated from, but also what you did during your time there. When you add sports, arts, and different areas of life to your academic path, you become a complete individual. At Beykoz University, we may not have a Faculty of Fine Arts, but we have an outstanding theater team and passionate music communities. We don’t have a dedicated sports department either, yet our athletes are becoming national champions. These achievements are by no means a coincidence. I wholeheartedly congratulate our Directorate of Health, Culture, and Sports for their tremendous efforts.”
He concluded his speech by saying:
"Never give up on these pursuits. Chase after sports, chase after art. Because a country without art and sports is neither a world, nor a university, nor even a true society."
Enes Özmen, Director of Health, Culture, and Sports, also gave a speech, stating:
“Sports and arts are not just complementary elements of university life—they are among the most powerful tools in a person’s journey of self-discovery, expression, and growth. At this meaningful ceremony, where we celebrate the achievements of students who have worked tirelessly and passionately across different fields, we are here to applaud their determination, discipline, and creativity. As the Directorate of Health, Culture, and Sports, we are doing our utmost to support each student's talents, create opportunities for them, and contribute to their development. Because we know that investing in our youth is investing in our future.”
Our Men's Beach Volleyball Team claimed the national championship title for the third consecutive year. Our 3x3 Basketball Team solidified their success by winning back-to-back national championships over the past two years. The impressive results of our Sailing Team in national competitions, the Women's Volleyball Team reaching the Super League Quarterfinals, the Women's Snow Volleyball Team securing third place in Turkey, and our Men's Basketball and Men's Volleyball Teams winning championships in Istanbul and Turkey have placed our university at the forefront of university sports.
Our Kickboxing Team earned four national rankings and made university history by winning two third-place titles in European competitions—an inspiring testament to our students’ determination and talent on the international stage.
The ceremony also celebrated achievements in the arts. Members of the Theater and Music Clubs were awarded certificates of appreciation for their dedication and performances throughout the year.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all our students, the technical teams, and trainers who supported them. We take great pride in our students, who continue to serve as exemplary role models in sports, the arts, and many other areas of life.
