Our Logistics Program students Gamze Nur Soylu and Esma Dilruba Aldemir made it to the finals of the “Interuniversity Logistics Case Competition”.
The finalists of the 22nd Interuniversity Logistics Case Competition, organized in cooperation with Mars Logistics and Logistics Association (LODER), have been announced. In the final where Beykoz University and Selçuk University teams will compete, our Logistics Program students Gamze Nur Soylu and Esma Dilruba Aldemir will represent our University in the Associate Degree category.
The teams selected as a result of the evaluations of expert jury members and industry professionals will compete for the first place in the grand final to be held in Istanbul on October 23rd.
Beykoz University team focused on supply chain optimization in the first stage of the competition. Students analyzed their data in detail and determined which processes require more energy and resources through mathematical function calculations. The team optimized the production and distribution processes in line with these analyses and developed strategic scenarios for the future, taking into account the seasonal demand structure of the company. In the final, they aim to develop the most appropriate optimization strategies with the same approach and offer sustainable and applicable solutions in the field of logistics and supply chain management.
Approximately 1000 students applied to the competition, which aims to improve students' competencies in the field of logistics and get to know the sector closely with its renewed format. In the competition organized in two categories, students formed teams of three to solve real logistics cases and developed comprehensive analyses and solution proposals.
Students who will compete in the final stage will have the opportunity to meet with the jury consisting of Mars Logistics executives and experienced names of the sector. In addition to cash prizes, the winning teams will have the chance to get to know the sector closely by participating in the “1 Week at Mars” program. They will also receive Business Life 101 trainings consisting of content such as correspondence techniques, interview simulation and CV preparation, visit the departments of Mars Logistics and have the opportunity to meet with senior managers.
