The “Wounds of the City: Fantastic Intervention Workshop”, organized by the Beykoz University City and Culture Club, was held at the Kavacık Schools of Higher Education Campus under the guidance of painter Mehmet Sinan Kuran.
As part of the workshop, collage works were created around the theme of “beautifying the city.” While addressing the physical and mental wounds of the city through art, participants engaged in an in-depth discussion on the transformative power of art, aesthetic intervention, imagination, and the individual relationships formed with urban spaces.
With the active participation of students, the event emphasized that art is not only a means of expression, but also a practice of thinking, questioning, and healing. The works produced during the workshop made visible the participants’ personal perceptions of the city as well as their critical perspectives.
We would like to thank Mehmet Sinan Kuran for his valuable contributions, as well as our guests and students, for their participation in this workshop, which attracted great interest.
