Organized within the scope of the World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day, the Türkiye–Azerbaijan Geostrategy Symposium was held on December 24, 2025, at Beykoz University. With strong participation from academics, researchers, and invited guests, the symposium addressed the strategic relations between Türkiye and Azerbaijan within the framework of geopolitical, political, and regional dynamics.
The program began with opening speeches by Dilber Aliyeva Gögsu, Acting Director of International Relations at Beykoz University; Dr. Elvin Abdurahmanlı, General Coordinator of KİAMP for the Republic of Türkiye and President of the Karabakh Is Azerbaijan Coordination Association; Üzeyir Mammadov, Member of Parliament of the Republic of Azerbaijan; and Prof. Dr. Burak Küntay, Rector of Beykoz University. The speeches emphasized the historical ties between the two countries, their strategic partnership, and the importance of regional cooperation.
As part of the program, a Caucasian dance performance added cultural richness to the event and created special moments reflecting the significance of World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day.
The first session of the symposium, titled “Global Solidarity of Azerbaijanis from Historical and Contemporary Perspectives,” was moderated by Attorney İbrahim Gögsu. Speakers included Bozkurt Yaşar Öztürk, Member of Parliament of the 21st Term of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye; Retired Brigadier General Ali Aydın Paşa; Malahat Mammadli, Chair of the Supervisory Board of KİAMP; Muhammed Arif Genç, President of the Federation of Çepni Associations; and Farid Akbarli, President of the Nakhchivan Cultural Center of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The session evaluated global solidarity networks of Azerbaijanis from both historical and contemporary perspectives.
The second session, titled “The Türkiye–Azerbaijan Geostrategic Vision,” was moderated by Caner Karakuş. In this session, Retired Brigadier General Prof. Dr. Esat Arslan, Prof. Dr. İbrahim Öztek, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cüneyt Dirican, Dr. Elvin Abdurahmanlı, and Dr. Safa Tankişi discussed the geostrategic dimensions of Türkiye–Azerbaijan relations, regional security policies, and future areas of cooperation through their presentations.
The symposium concluded with paper presentations, drawing attention to the regional and global significance of Türkiye–Azerbaijan relations.
