The short film Bir Aile by Assist. Prof. Murat Çetinkaya, faculty member of the Radio, Television and Cinema Program at the Faculty of Art and Design, was completed in September 2024 with the production support of the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Culture and Tourism and TRT 12 Punto.
Following its completion, the film began its festival journey with its premiere in the International Competition category at the 31st Adana Altın Koza Film Festival. It was also selected as a finalist at the Izmir International Short Film Festival, the only festival in Türkiye authorized to determine the country’s Academy Awards® nominee. In addition, the film reached the finals at the 19th Boston Turkish Film Festival, the 11th Usak Short Film Festival, and the 12th Kayseri Film Festival, achieving significant national and international recognition.
In December 2024, the film was screened for students of the Radio, Television and Cinema Program at Beykoz University. The event attracted strong interest from our students, and the post-screening Q&A session turned into an inspiring and productive gathering for young filmmakers.
Now, Bir Aile is set to meet audiences at Kadir Has University as part of the “Best Locals” program organized by Istanbul Film Station. The screening will take place on Thursday, March 12 at 7:00 PM, followed by a discussion with the directors. The program will also feature two award-winning short films honored at the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival.
