Two of Our Projects Have Been Awarded Support Under TÜBİTAK 2209-A

Two projects prepared by our students have been awarded support under the TÜBİTAK 2209-A University Students Research Projects Support Program. Developed with a focus on digital game design, the projects address important topics such as environmental sustainability, safe living spaces, and social awareness through creative learning experiences.

The first supported project, titled “Design and Development of a Digital Serious Game on the Protection of the Natural Environment,” aims to develop a 2D digital serious game designed to increase environmental awareness and sustainability consciousness. Through interactive tasks and storytelling, the project will convey topics such as recycling, ecosystem restoration, waste separation, and the protection of biodiversity to players. Prepared in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the project aims to provide an innovative digital learning experience that supports environmental literacy.

The project is supervised by Res. Assist. Dr. Ferhat Erdinç Kaygusuz from the Faculty of Art and Design. Fatma Beril Bilgen serves as the project coordinator, while Hatice Begüm Dönmez and Yiğit İbrahim Erkal take part as project partners.

Another supported project, titled “Safe Homes, Sustainable Cities: Digital Game Design on Home Safety,” focuses on themes such as home safety, privacy, and sustainable urban living through the development of a 2D pixel art digital game. The project aims to address issues including the right to safe housing, residential security, and personal safety through scenario-based tasks and interactive storytelling. Targeting especially young users, the project seeks to raise social awareness regarding safe and sustainable living spaces and is associated with the 11th United Nations Sustainable Development Goal: “Sustainable Cities and Communities.”

The project is coordinated by Süha Taşcı, with Emre Bilici serving as a project partner. The project is supervised by Res. Assist. Dr. Ferhat Erdinç Kaygusuz from the Faculty of Art and Design.

Our university continues to support student projects focused on research, production, and social benefit while encouraging innovative studies in the fields of technology, design, and sustainability.

We congratulate our students and academic staff and wish them continued success.
