Internal Audit Process, KAP Action Plans, and BEY-KAL Certificate Ceremony Discussed at the Quality Commission Meeting

Beykoz University Quality Commission convened on June 2, 2026, in the Rectorate Senate Meeting Room. During the meeting, significant evaluations were made regarding activities carried out within the scope of the quality assurance system, the internal audit process, preparations for the Institutional Accreditation Program (KAP), and the work of various coordinatorships.

One of the key agenda items was the internal audit process planned ahead of the ISO audit scheduled for August. Commission members were informed about the activities to be conducted within the framework of internal auditor training sessions, site visits, and the peer review approach.

The meeting also addressed improvement efforts to be carried out in line with the 2024 Institutional Accreditation Program (KAP) Feedback Report. It was stated that the workshops to be organized during the summer by the focus groups established under the themes of Leadership and Governance, Education and Training, Research and Development, and Social Contribution would contribute significantly to the University's quality enhancement processes.

During the opinions and suggestions session, Prof. Dr. Şebnem Hoşkara, Coordinator of Impact, Rankings, and Sustainability, shared information regarding the activities conducted within the scope of the World Urban Forum (WUF). Evaluations were made on increasing the international visibility of the University's sustainability-oriented initiatives.

The commission was also informed about data management and digital infrastructure projects carried out by the Big Data Coordinatorship. In addition, the Disability Support and Disadvantaged Groups Coordinatorship presented updates on ongoing accessibility and inclusivity initiatives aimed at supporting disadvantaged groups.

Another noteworthy agenda item was the process concerning students who became eligible to receive certificates as part of the Beykoz University Student Quality Ambassadors (BEY-KAL) program. Certificates were presented by members of the Quality Commission to students who actively participated in quality-related activities, training sessions, and events throughout the 2025–2026 Academic Year.

The students entitled to receive certificates were announced as follows:

  • Vildan Aydın Özmen – Faculty of Social Sciences, Communication and Design Program
  • Pelinsu Al – Faculty of Social Sciences, Psychology Program
  • Mine Solmaz Özgüven – Faculty of Social Sciences, Radio, Television and Cinema Program
  • Fatih Berat Yücedağ – Beykoz Logistics Vocational School, Civil Aviation (English) Program
  • Cihan Uraz – Institute of Graduate Programmes, International Trade and Logistics Program
  • Akın Dönmez – Faculty of Business and Administrative Sciences, Logistics Management Program
  • İrem Demir – Faculty of Business and Administrative Sciences, Business Administration (English) Program
  • Sevçe Yağmur Gül – Faculty of Social Sciences, Political Science and International Relations Program
  • Ilgın Belovacıklı – Faculty of Social Sciences, Political Science and International Relations Program
  • Sıla Girgin – Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Industrial Engineering Program

At the conclusion of the meeting, the importance of sustaining quality assurance activities through the active participation of all stakeholders was emphasized. It was also stated that efforts to strengthen a student-centered quality culture at Beykoz University would continue with determination.
