The primary objective of the Directorate of Student Affairs is to plan and execute all formalities completely and accurately based on related legislation and regulation within the period between a student’s admission and enrolment process and the student’s graduation and to assure coordination with academic and administrative units.
According to Article 31 of the Decree Law on Administrative Organization of Higher Education Supreme Establishments and Higher Education Institutions, the duties of the Directorate of Student Affairs are as follows:
- To do necessary formalities related to new enrollment, acceptance and course status of students,
- To do graduation, school ID, scholarship formalities and monitor graduates,
- To do other similar duties to be assigned.
Other duties;
- Preparing and publishing a draft academic calendar,
- Creating and archiving student files,
- Doing formalities related to disenrollment, exmatriculation and freezing registration,
- Preparing information and statistics required by organizations such as YÖK(The Council of Higher Education), ÖSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center) and KYK (Higher Education Credit and Hostels Institution),
- Issuing documents such as Student Certificate, Transcript and Student Status Certificate,
- Preparing reports containing student information,
- Doing curriculum change formalities and entering them into the system,
- Implementing decisions related to education-learning and notifying the related parties,
- Executing formalities related to foreign students,
- Taking internal and external undergraduate transfer applications and conducting formalities,
- Conducting Double Major and Minor formalities,
- Taking special student and guest student applications and performing related formalities,
- Preparing course and exam programs,
- Conducting Summer School formalities,
- Conducting internship formalities,
- Preparing and delivering certificate of graduation as well as diploma and diploma supplement, certificate of honor, certificate of high honor and Europass documents to graduates,
- Recording students’ disciplinary punishments to the related system and exchanging necessary correspondences,
