As Beykoz University, we believe that education is a fundamental right for every individual. Therefore, we regard ensuring the equal, accessible, inclusive, and meaningful participation of all our students in academic, administrative, physical, digital, and social environments as one of our highest priorities.
With the “Directive on the Accessible University and Disadvantaged Groups Coordination Office,” approved by the University Senate on December 30, 2025, we have established a more systematic, transparent, and sustainable framework for our activities.
The primary objective of our Coordination Office is not only to address physical barriers but also to identify and respond to the needs of students who may face challenges in accessing educational opportunities due to socio-economic, cultural, linguistic, or digital factors.
Under the motto “Accessible Campus, Barrier-Free Future,” we carry out a wide range of initiatives aimed at fostering an inclusive university environment. These include:
Adapting learning environments, facilities, equipment, and educational materials to meet the diverse needs of our students;
Coordinating necessary academic accommodations to ensure equal opportunities in assessment and evaluation processes;
Organizing awareness-raising and informational activities for both students and academic staff to strengthen the culture of inclusion across our university.
All these processes are managed through accessible communication channels that enable our students to directly share their opinions, requests, and suggestions. We adopt a participatory approach, supported by student representatives and our advisory committees, to ensure that every voice is heard.
While carrying out our activities, we remain fully committed to the principles of personal data protection, confidentiality, and ethical responsibility. Our goal is to create an ecosystem in which every student feels safe, respected, and valued.
Recognizing that barriers often exist not in physical environments but in perspectives and attitudes, we would like to emphasize that no student at Beykoz University is alone in their academic journey. We will continue working together to build a more accessible campus and a brighter future for all.
