Clarification Text on the Protection of Personal Data in Accordance with the Law on the Protection of Personal Data No. 6698 (KVKK)
Purpose
This clarification text is drawn up in accordance with Article 10 of the Law on the Protection of Personal Data No. 6698 (“Law”) and has been prepared to inform you about the method and legal reasons, as well as the legal rights of the data owner, regarding the personal data processed, the purpose of processing the data, the parties the data is transferred to and the purposes for it, the method of collecting personal data and the legal reasons.
DATA CONTROLLER
Your personal data is processed and transferred by Beykoz University in the capacity of data controller, in accordance with the Law on the Protection of Personal Data No. 6698 (“Law”) and for as long as necessary in line with the principles set forth in the legislation for the reasons explained below and legal grounds. You can access Beykoz Personal Data Processing Policy at “beykoz.edu.tr”. In addition, our university has been registered with VERBIS, and you can examine these public data on VERBIS.

THE PARTIES TO WHICH YOUR PERSONAL DATA IS TRANSFERRED AND THE PURPOSE OF TRANSFER
OUR UNIVERSITY carefully complies with the conditions set forth in the KVKK regarding the sharing of personal data with third parties, without prejudice to the provisions of other laws. In this framework, your personal data is not transferred by OUR UNIVERSITY to third parties without the explicit consent of the data owner, only to the extent permitted by law. However, in the presence of one of the following conditions regulated by the KVKK, personal data may be transferred by OUR UNIVERSITY without obtaining the explicit consent of the data owner:
In cases where your personal data is clearly stated in the law (Article 8/2 (a) “second paragraph of article 5”, Art. 8/2 (b) “provided that adequate precautions are taken, in case one of the conditions specified in the third paragraph of article 6 is met), the data subject It can be transferred without seeking its explicit consent.” It can be transferred to public institutions and organizations, including but not limited to the public institutions specified in the law, to our suppliers and business partners within the scope of the purposes and limitations stipulated in the law.
Although your personal data is not transferred abroad without your explicit consent, our university and you use e-mail, Office 365 and Yandex and similar overseas e-mail service infrastructures, cloud-based remote access platforms such as Zoom, Teams, Skype, most of which have data centers abroad. For this reason, this sent data is considered as a data transfer abroad within the scope of Personal Data Legislation, since it is kept in data centers located in various parts of the world. However, it is not possible to abandon this form of communication because the use of e-mail addresses and cloud-based remote access platforms has become almost mandatory in many areas and it is required to be used in various legislations.
METHOD OF COLLECTING YOUR PERSONAL DATA AND LEGAL REASON
Personal data, notifications and documents sent by our UNIVERSITY, especially from https://www.beykoz.edu.tr/, electronic systems of public institutions and organizations, internet transactions, social media and other public channels, student interviews, digital applications to websites are collected through verbal, written, video, audio recording or electronic channels, with methods such as written/digital applications, call center service.
Personal data collected for these purposes, provided that it is necessary for our UNIVERSITY to fulfill its legal obligation as a data controller and/or it is expressly stipulated in the laws and/or it is directly related to the conclusion or performance of a contract, and/or It can be collected on the basis of a legal reason for express consent, in case it is necessary for the data controller to fulfill its legal obligation and/or data processing is mandatory for the legitimate interests of the data controller and there is explicit consent.
YOUR RIGHTS AS PERSONAL DATA SUBJECT STATED IN ARTICLE 11 OF THE LAW
A wet-signed copy of your request, which includes the necessary information to identify your applications for your rights listed above and your explanations about your right to exercise the rights specified in Article 11 of the KVKK Law, is sent to "Beykoz University, Kavacık Mah. Orhan Veli Kanik Cad. No: 114 P.K. You can personally send it to 34810 Beykoz / Istanbul with documents identifying your identity, send it via a notary public or other methods specified in the KVK Law, or send the relevant form to [email protected] with secure electronic signature.
Depending on the nature of the request, the request will be concluded free of charge as soon as possible and within thirty (30) days at the latest. However, if the transaction requires an additional cost, we will charge the tariff determined by the Personal Data Protection Board. If your request is justified, this fee will be refunded to you.
Applications should be made in Turkish. Name, surname and signature, if the application is written, in order for your request to be evaluated and returned to you in the applications, for the citizens of the Republic of Turkey, T.C. identification number, nationality for foreigners, passport number/identity number, place of residence or workplace address for notification, e-mail address, telephone or fax number for notification, if any, and the subject of the request.
In the application containing the explanations regarding the right that the person concerned has and will make in order to use the above-mentioned rights; The subject requested must be clear and understandable, the subject requested must be related to his person, or if he is acting on behalf of someone else, he must be specifically authorized in this regard and certify his authority, the application must include identity and address information, and documents proving his identity must be attached to the application.
We report as "Data Controller" within the scope of KVK Law.
