Leadership Training Held for BEY-KAL Student Quality Ambassadors

Within the scope of Beykoz University Student Quality Ambassadors (BEY-KAL), an interactive leadership training was organized for students on April 7 at the Kavacık Vocational Schools Campus. The event, attended by student quality representatives from various academic units, aimed to enhance students’ leadership skills.

The training, conducted by the Career Center Directorate, addressed the concept of leadership from a multi-dimensional perspective. Topics included whether leadership is an innate trait or a developable competency, the role of a leader in teamwork, the differences between leadership and management, and the importance of self-awareness in the leadership process.

During the training, interactive methods were used to encourage active student participation. Instant feedback was collected through the Mentimeter application, allowing students’ opinions to be incorporated into the process. In addition, the “Marshmallow Challenge” activity provided a hands-on experience in teamwork, problem-solving, and quick decision-making. Through this activity, students had the opportunity to experience and learn design thinking approaches.

At the end of the event, students stated that they had gained greater awareness of leadership skills and expressed their interest in increasing the number of similar practice-based trainings.

With this event, it is aimed to contribute to the personal and professional development of student quality representatives and to strengthen their leadership competencies.
