Our Academics Served as Moderators at the Istanbul Economy Workshop

The Istanbul Economy Workshop, where policy recommendations and strategic goals for Istanbul’s economic development were discussed, was held on June 17 with broad participation. A total of 120 participants took part in the workshop, where activities were carried out across 10 different commissions addressing various dimensions of economic development.

Representing our University, our academics Prof. Dr. Ezgi Uzel Aydıocak and Prof. Dr. Emine Esra Kasapbaşı served as moderators in the commission sessions. Prof. Dr. Ezgi Uzel Aydıocak moderated the Logistics, Transportation and Supply Chain Commission, while Prof. Dr. Emine Esra Kasapbaşı moderated the Women and Youth Entrepreneurship Commission.

During the sessions held as part of the workshop, the current state of the relevant sectors and fields was evaluated, existing challenges and areas for improvement were discussed, and strategic goals for the future were examined. Participants exchanged views on policy development processes and solution proposals aimed at supporting sustainable economic growth.

In the commission meetings moderated by our academics, experts from public institutions, local governments, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector came together to share their knowledge and experience. The discussions provided a productive and multifaceted platform for collaboration among different stakeholders.

Our University continues to play an active role in initiatives that contribute to social and economic development by bringing academic knowledge and expertise to broader platforms and fostering collaboration with public institutions, the private sector, and civil society organizations.
