About the Faculty of Social Sciences

Mission

The mission of the Faculty of Social Sciences is to conduct its educational activities with an egalitarian and pluralistic perspective, to design scientific research within an ethical framework through an innovative and emancipatory approach, and to contribute to society and the universal body of knowledge by following evolving social and human conditions in the light of science.

Vision

The vision of the Faculty of the Social Sciences is to cultivate academically and professionally competent students who can contribute positively to social life with the knowledge they acquire, who embrace responsive, free, critical and egalitarian thinking, and to foster a faculty environment where high-quality scientific research is conducted in response to social issues, inequalities, and forms of oppression, with sensitivity to local, regional, and global contexts and needs, and with respect for academic freedoms and labor rights.

The social sciences allow for a wide range of professional orientations and different career goals. In this context, our faculty is committed to providing its students with a broad perspective, critical thinking and opportunities to meet different interests through a vibrant academic environment and rich cultural and social activities. Therefore, our faculty promises our students not only the opportunity to have a profession, but also the opportunity to realize themselves as innovative, well-equipped and versatile individuals.
