Dear students,
Our faculty, which will meet its first students in the 2018-2019 academic year, has the claim to be the representative of a new breath in the social sciences and the center of contemporary approaches.
In the age of rapid change, reaching the scientific tools of making sense of the world by establishing the relationship of the individual, the society and the global world is the main task of social sciences. We aim to offer a comprehensive and holistic social science education as well as the areas of expertise of disciplines with our 2-part structure consisting of 'Psychology', 'Political Science and International Relations'. In this regard, a wide range of elective courses awaits our students, consisting of courses offered by the departments within the faculty and other faculties within our university with their competent academic staff.
In the Psychology Department of our faculty, we aim to enable our students to gain a strong theoretical background in different sub-fields of psychology such as social, clinical, development, cognitive and industry, as well as to develop an interdisciplinary perspective with elective courses from other social sciences. We attach great importance to our students to gain professional experience. Various application possibilities we will offer in this direction will enable them to realize their professional knowledge. Our target; is to educate psychologists who are able to offer solutions to these problems by evaluating individual and social problems with an objective perspective, with high social sensitivity, based on professional ethical principles.
The Department of Political Science and International Relations has a curriculum associated with many branches of social sciences. In this section, our students will meet many fields from political science perspective to economics to law, sociology to communication. They will be able to handle international politics at various levels by examining the relationships between different actors; they will have the opportunity to specialize in various areas of international relations. Our department aims to provide its students with a perspective to evaluate current political facts from a local and global perspective on a theoretical basis.
Social sciences allow for a wide range of professional orientations and different career goals. In this context, our faculty is committed to providing its students with a broad perspective, critical thinking and opportunities to meet different interests through a vibrant academic environment and rich cultural and social activities. For this reason, our faculty is not only an opportunity for our students to have a profession; it also offers opportunities for self-realization as innovative, equipped and versatile individuals.
