ecturers Dr. Nesibe Yazgan Uslu and Lecturer Cengizhan İncedere from the Turkish Preparatory Program of the School of Foreign Languages attended the event organized at the Faculty of Letters of Istanbul University on the occasion of 15 December World Turkic Languages Family Day. At the event, where scholarly studies on the Turkish language were presented, it was emphasized that the declaration of 15 December as World Turkic Languages Family Day by a resolution adopted at UNESCO’s 43rd General Conference on 3 November 2025 constitutes a historic development that strengthens the international significance of the Turkish language.
Bringing together Turkologists and academics from various countries, the event featured discussions on the future of the Turkish language. Exhibition areas introducing works related to Turkish language and culture were also included, along with selections from Irk Bitig, the first known Turkish book of divination, and examples of Turkish alphabets used throughout history. The event concluded with traditional Turkish melodies performed with the accompaniment of the kopuz.
