The Bachelor's / Associate Degree English Program consists of the English courses listed below, which are offered in bachelor's and associate degree programs where the medium of instruction is Turkish and English.
Students in programs whose medium of instruction is English attend B2 (upper-intermediate) level English courses in their respective departments after successfully completing (or being exempt from) the English Preparatory Program. In the first academic year, courses aimed at improving general English knowledge and skills are offered. In bachelor's programs, in addition to general English and academic language skills (Academic Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking), professional English courses are also offered in the following academic years. In associate degree programs taught in English, a one-semester professional English course is offered in the second academic year.
Attendance to classes is mandatory.
Students enrolled in programs whose medium of instruction is Turkish are not required to be exempt from the English Preparatory Program. However, students who choose to attend the optional English Preparatory Program in their first academic year and successfully complete it become exempt from the general English courses (English I and English II) offered in the first academic year.
Students who start their Turkish-medium programs without attending the English Preparatory Program continue with the English courses offered within the Bachelor's/Associate Degree English Program. They are required to successfully complete general English courses in the first academic year and, in some programs, a one-semester professional English course in the second academic year.
The required English proficiency level for students in Turkish-medium bachelor's programs is B1 (intermediate), while the required level for students in Turkish-medium associate degree programs is A2 (pre-intermediate).
