Lecturer Savaş Okyay Attended the Event “Future Ready: Education in the Age of Artificial Intelligence"

Beykoz University was represented at the event titled “Future Ready: Redefining Teaching and Learning in the Age of AI,” held on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the Koç University Research Center for Anatolian Civilizations (ANAMED). Lecturer Savaş Okyay attended the event on behalf of our university.

The program, which addressed the transformative impact of artificial intelligence in education, evaluated the future of teaching and learning processes from a multidimensional perspective. The integration of AI-supported applications into educational environments, field-based examples, and how higher education institutions can strategically and sustainably adapt to this transformation were discussed comprehensively.

In the first session of the event, Sara Davila, English Language Specialist at Educating Her World, emphasized in her presentation titled “Beyond the Algorithm: Aligning Learning for Future Success” that learning processes should be restructured not only through technological innovations but also in line with pedagogical goals and future competencies.

In the second session, Dr. Paker Doğu Özdemir, Director of CELT at MEF University, shared the institutional transformation strategies and sustainable change model followed on the path to becoming a generative AI-ready university in his presentation titled “Becoming a Generative AI-Ready University: MEF University’s Roadmap for Sustainable Change.”

At a time when digital transformation in higher education is accelerating, such events—where AI-supported teaching practices are addressed from pedagogical, ethical, and institutional perspectives—are considered to contribute to Beykoz University’s innovative and future-oriented educational vision. The participation of Lecturer Savaş Okyay, who focuses on AI-supported learning and language teaching in his academic work, served as an indication of our university’s commitment to closely following developments in this field and translating them into practice.
