Our SFL Management Attended the "Teaching for Tomorrow" Seminar

The Director of our School of Foreign Languages (SFL), Lecturer Pınar Pamuk, and Vice Director Lecturer Mediha Banbal attended the international education seminar titled "Teaching for Tomorrow," held in Girne between March 29–31, 2026.

Organized by National Geographic Learning in collaboration with Kardes Kitap at the Merit Park Hotel, this prestigious event brought together leading experts and academic administrators from the world of language education.

Strategies for the Future of Education

During the intensive three-day program, modern approaches to English Language Teaching (ELT) and digital transformation were discussed. Key highlights from the seminar included:

  • Visual Literacy: A session by John Hughes on the effective use of visual materials and the importance of visual literacy in the English classroom.
  • Future-Ready Skills: Alex Warren’s comprehensive presentation on equipping students with 21st-century competencies and preparing them for the global workforce.
  • Sustainability in ELT: Innovative models for integrating sustainability concepts into the language curriculum.
  • Thinking Skills: An in-depth look at the strategic roles of convergent and divergent thinking techniques in foreign language instruction.
Academic Development and Collaborations

Throughout the seminar, our SFL management exchanged experiences with colleagues from various institutions and explored new collaboration opportunities to further enhance our educational quality.
