Lecturer Pınar Pamuk, Director of the School of Foreign Languages (SFL), attended the IATEFL 2026 Brighton Conference—one of the world’s most comprehensive events in the field of English language teaching. During the three-day intensive program, our University took its place as part of the global education network.
Founded in 1967 in the United Kingdom by Dr. Bill Lee, the International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language (IATEFL) has, over more than 50 years, grown into a vast network bringing together English language teachers, academics, and education administrators from around the world. With thousands of members from over 100 countries, the association continues to fulfill its mission of enhancing language education standards, sharing innovative pedagogical approaches, and fostering a global professional community.
Held between April 21–24, 2026, in Brighton, UK, the IATEFL International Conference and Exhibition once again shed light on the future of language education. Representing our University, Lect. Pınar Pamuk attended a wide range of academic sessions over three days, focusing on key topics such as digitalization in language education, assessment and evaluation trends, and modern classroom management strategies.
At the exhibition area, Lect. Pamuk engaged with leading global publishers and educational technology providers, gaining valuable insights to ensure that the School of Foreign Languages at Beykoz University remains aligned with international standards.
Sharing her reflections after the event, Lect. Pınar Pamuk stated: "The IATEFL Brighton Conference is a unique platform for observing global developments in language education firsthand and exploring best practices from different countries. The insights we gained this year will contribute to keeping our language education vision at Beykoz University up to date and enriching the quality of education we offer our students in line with international trends. Two topics that particularly stood out this year were AI-supported practices and the importance of teacher motivation."
