The 18th Foreign Language Schools Administrators Meeting, hosted by Akdeniz University in Antalya, brought together academics and administrators working in the field of language education. The two-day event was represented by our university through SFL Director Lecturer Pınar Pamuk and Lecturer Mediha Banbal.
The meeting began with the participation of Akdeniz University Rector Prof. Dr. Özlenen Özkan and ÖSYM President Prof. Dr. Bayram Ali Ersoy. Throughout the program, several key topics were addressed, including accreditation processes in foreign language education, digital assessment and evaluation systems, and future-oriented educational policies.
The main highlights included:
Assessment and Evaluation: The presentation of “e-TEP: Türkiye’s Innovative 4-Skills English Exam” by ÖSYM experts.
Vision 2030: Discussions on regulatory updates in language education and the 2030 vision, with contributions from YÖK experts.
International Accreditation: A panel featuring representatives from EAQUALS, CEA, and DEDAK focusing on quality standards and accreditation processes.
On the second day of the meeting, focus groups formed by administrators from different universities presented their reports, including analyses of key challenges and proposed solutions. Our YDYO management shared best practice examples implemented at our university and held discussions on potential inter-institutional collaborations.
In addition, Lecturer Pınar Pamuk voluntarily contributed to the preparation of the report to be submitted to YÖK following the focus group session on current legislation.
Our School continues to actively participate in national-level platforms, closely following innovations in language education and contributing to the ongoing improvement of educational quality.
