Our School of Foreign Languages instructors, Fatih Taşkaya and Savaş Okyay, participated in the QUAAS 2026 – Quality Assurance, Accreditation and Standardisation Conference, an international conference held on 5–6 June 2026 and hosted by the School of Foreign Languages of Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University in collaboration with Oxford University Press.
Held under the theme “From Promise to Performance,” the conference brought together academics and administrators working in foreign language units at higher education institutions across Türkiye to discuss current developments in quality assurance, accreditation, and standardisation in foreign language education.
On the first day of the conference, sessions focused on topics such as translating institutional policies into classroom practices, sustainable professional development models, quality-oriented leadership approaches, and evaluating institutional effectiveness through evidence-based monitoring systems. Following the presentations, participants had the opportunity to engage with speakers during question-and-answer sessions.
The second day featured parallel sessions and workshops on Professional Development, Assessment and Evaluation, Curriculum Development, Programme Planning, and ELT Management. The conference concluded with a closing session that included roundtable discussions, the development of solution proposals, and group reflections.
