Our Mission

Our mission is to equip students with creative and intellectual depth, as well as the ability to research, analyze, and interpret, while introducing them to ever-evolving content, formats, and production methods in fields such as digital radio-television-cinema, interactive broadcasting, and virtual reality storytelling.

Our vision is to contribute to our country and the world by educating graduates with international standards in education and training, along with strong ethical and professional values in the fields of radio, television, and cinema.

Program Overview

The Radio, Television, and Cinema Department offers a theoretical and practical curriculum across all three areas. Our interdisciplinary course structure includes subjects such as Principles of Visuals, Visual Culture and Film, Basic Photography, Digital Cinema and Television, Short Film Workshop, Studio Practices, New Approaches in Digital Broadcasting, Documentary Filmmaking, and Post-Production Applications. Starting in their second year, students can choose electives from other departments in line with their interests and career goals.

Through academic-industry collaborations, seminars are organized in partnership with leading professionals, organizations, and production companies from the industry.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon graduation, our students will be able to:

  • Produce creative content in radio, television, and cinema

  • Analyze current social issues, historical developments, and the world of culture and arts

  • Evaluate the impact of mass communication and digital communication on society

  • Use and assess current media technologies and tools in the field of radio, television, and cinema

  • Define areas such as news, fiction, documentary, and video art, and evaluate international developments in these areas

  • Manage media production and operation processes using appropriate theories and methods

  • Assess developments related to the transformation of digital media technologies

Program Educational Objectives

Graduates of the program will be able to:

  • Take on roles in every stage of film, series, news, and program production for the radio, cinema, and television industries

  • Produce work in independent film, photography, and digital media

  • Work as managers or consultants in media organizations

  • Use the projects completed during their studies as references for master's degree applications

Our Graduates

Having graduated its first cohort in 2023, the Radio, Television, and Cinema Program supports students’ career development throughout their four-year education. Through the Career Planning course, Career Days, and the Career Center, our university helps students design their career paths.

In the final year, students participate in a 70-day Workplace Practice course, helping them plan their post-graduation paths. Today, our graduates are employed in leading news and entertainment channels, production companies, advertising agencies, and digital media firms.

Practical Training Process

With the "Workplace Practice" course in the 4th year, students gain industry experience, work on real projects, and have the opportunity to engage directly in professional production processes.

English and Other Foreign Languages

Although the language of instruction is Turkish, professional English support courses are offered since many technical terms and software in the sector are in English. Students may also take elective courses in a second foreign language.

International Exchange Programs

We have Erasmus+ agreements with universities in various European countries. Our students can enrich their academic and cultural experiences by studying abroad for one semester.

  • Instituto Politécnico de Tomar, Portugal

  • University of Constanta Romania, Romania

Double Major and Minor Programs

Our students can pursue double major or minor programs with other departments within the Faculty of Art and Design, allowing them to gain expertise in a second field.

Research and Project Opportunities

Students can take part in faculty-led research projects, apply for funding through organizations like TÜBİTAK, and represent the university with their work in national and international competitions.

Student Clubs

There are numerous student clubs at our university. The Television and Cinema Clubs, established by our program's students, operate under student initiative.

Department Activities

  • Student Film Screenings – Annual screenings of student film projects

  • Industry Meetings – Seminars and workshops featuring leading professionals, including film screenings with directors

  • Festival Participation – Attendance at screenings of IKSV Film Festival, screenings and workshops at Adana Golden Boll Film Festival

  • Field Trips – Technical visits to major radio, TV, digital media, and production companies

Graduate Studies Opportunities

Graduates of the Radio, Television, and Cinema Program can pursue academic specialization in fields such as radio, television, cinema, digital media, and communication.

Beykoz University offers a valuable graduate education opportunity through its Master's Program in Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design (with and without thesis), combining artistic production with digital design processes in an interdisciplinary framework.
