PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM
Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design Master's Program seeks to train experts who can manage the artistic and technological dimensions of communication design with an interdisciplinary approach in today's information and communication age, which is marked by the day-by-day increasing significance of visuality.
WHO CAN APPLY?
Apart from the students that have successfully graduated from an undergraduate education program from faculties of art and design, fine arts and communication, students from various different undergraduate education fields with an intention to specialize in visual arts and visual communication design are welcome to apply to the program.
THESIS AND NON-THESIS PROGRAMS
Student candidates can apply to the Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design Master's Program as a thesis or non-thesis program. The students that have completed their thesis program can go on to enrol in a doctorate/proficiency in arts programs while the students that have completed the non-thesis program with a term project add significant value to their professional resumes.
DURATION OF THE PROGRAM
The program with thesis takes at least 4 semesters to complete and has to be graduated from in a maximum period of 6 semesters. The non-thesis program takes at least 2 semesters to complete and has to be graduated in a maximum period of 3 semesters.
STRUCTURE OF THE PROGRAM
Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design Master's Program students are offered courses allowing them to develop a comprehensive understanding of the theories and various applications in their fields. Thesis program students take 120 ECTS worth of courses (8 courses + 2 semesters of thesis), while students of the non-thesis program take 90 ECTS courses (10 courses + 1 semester project). Thanks to the program's rich elective courses pool, they are free to choose courses that will help them develop their knowledge and skills in their own areas of interests.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
There is no foreign language or grade point average requirement for applying to the Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design Master's Program. In order to apply to the program with thesis, applicants need to get at least 55 points in Equal Weight (EA) score type from the ALES exam (but there is no ALES requirement for the non-thesis program).
APPLICATION AND EVALUATION
Candidates need to apply by filling out the online application form available on the website of Beykoz University Graduate Programs Institute. They also have to upload their diplomas, transcripts and short CVs during the online application while the original documents must also be presented for the actual registration process to be completed.
The candidates that have filled out the online application form are interviewed at a place, date and time set for to them.
PLACE OF EDUCATION, DAYS AND TIMES
Classes are held at the Kavacık campus of Beykoz University. Course days and hours are scheduled during the week and on Saturdays, taking into account the working status of the students. In the event that the program is made available for a specific institution through an institutional agreement, the courses can be given partially or completely at the institution’s place.

ACADEMIC STAFF
Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design Graduate Program is led by the Art and Design Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Bengisu Bayrak Shahmiri and supported by a strong academic staff. The academic staff consists of both young academics who are dedicated to the current research subjects of the field and academics who stand out in their fields.
