The Quality Commission of Beykoz University convened on April 14 in the Rectorate Senate Meeting Room with broad participation. The meeting was also significant as it marked the first commission meeting attended by newly appointed coordinators.
During the meeting, key topics guiding the university’s quality initiatives were discussed. Experiences related to the updating process of the ECTS information packages were shared, and the importance of ensuring that these contents are complete and up to date prior to course selection periods was emphasized. In addition, evaluations conducted based on the 2025 Institutional Internal Evaluation Report highlighted that the upcoming period is critical in terms of preparation for the accreditation process.
Various decisions were made to enhance the effectiveness of quality processes. Maintaining commission meetings on a regular schedule, improving the quality webpage, and increasing the visibility of activities carried out within academic and administrative units were among the prominent topics. Furthermore, up-to-date data regarding the use of BKYS were shared, and the necessity of more active use of the system was underlined.
In the final part of the meeting, the student representative took the floor to share opinions and suggestions. Students’ expectations—particularly regarding participation in events, increasing content in foreign languages, and course planning—were taken into consideration by the commission members.
With this meeting, it is aimed to strengthen a more participatory approach to quality processes at our University and to reinforce the understanding of continuous improvement.
