A Continuous Improvement Committee meeting was held with the participation of Deans and Directors to discuss the enhancement of performance evaluation processes conducted through the Academic Data Management System (AVYS) at our University.
At the opening of the meeting, Dr. Faculty Member Hami Aydın, Internal Audit and Planning Coordinator, presented an AVYS analysis prepared based on the Corrective and Improvement Action (CIA) reports submitted through the Institutional Quality Management System (BKYS). The presentation reviewed the current performance criteria, their weighting, and the general feedback received from academic units.
During the meeting, Deans and Directors shared their opinions and suggestions regarding the improvement of the AVYS system. Discussions highlighted the importance of considering the diverse academic structures of different units, reassessing the weighting of performance indicators related to education, research and development, and administrative contributions, and adopting a more comprehensive approach to measuring academic activities.
In addition, it was decided to conduct simulation studies based on different weighting scenarios to support the further development of the performance evaluation system. The results of these simulations will be shared again with the Deans and Directors following the evaluations of the senior management, and the final revisions will be shaped accordingly.
Based on the evaluations carried out during the meeting, it was emphasized that efforts to improve the AVYS performance system will continue, with the aim of creating a structure that takes into account the needs of different academic units, makes academic contributions more visible, and supports fair and comprehensive evaluation practices.
