Research and Development Innovation Goals

Beykoz University has set the following main goals in order to achieve its strategic goals in research, development and innovation.

  • To determine the research, development and innovation areas and subjects of the university as a priority, to start activities by determining strategies and targets to compete in these areas at national and international level.
  • To determine the interdisciplinary research, development and innovation fields within the priority areas of the university
  • To support interdisciplinary research, development and innovation projects prioritizing the budget of the university To increase the number of interdisciplinary graduate programs
  • To encourage and rewarding interdisciplinary multi-author publications by bringing plus points to the performance and publication incentive system
  • To take part in national and international research groups / networks in research, development and innovation studies. To create common platforms that will bring the university and the business world together and develop their cooperation in order to support and develop research, development and innovation activities within the university.
  • To establish a Technology Transfer Office (TTO) that will support the industrial transformation of the research, development and innovation activities carried out at the university within the university, the development of new ideas and entrepreneurship, including the Project Development Unit and the Project Execution Unit.
  • To establish a Technology Center (TEKMER) in cooperation with KOSGEB within the university
  • To establish a TEKNOKENT company with the cooperation of the business world in which the university will take part and to be a partner in existing TEKNOKENT / TEKNOPARK organizations
  • To establish a Central Research and Application Laboratory that will support the university's research, development and innovation studies, and TTO, TEKMER and TEKNOKENT services, especially in the priority areas of the university. To establish commercial companies to commercialize research, development and innovation results and to market their products
  • To develop and carry out research, development and innovation projects supported by national and international institutions and organizations
  • To provide quality assurance of research, development and innovation studies and to establish an evaluation system to ensure quality assurance.
  • To establish and periodically implement an evaluation and quality assurance system that includes internal and external evaluation processes that will allow the evaluation and continuous improvement of research, development and innovation studies and processes conducted in the university in terms of output, impact, benefit / cost, compliance and performance.
  • To strengthen the relationship between research, development and innovation studies and education and training activities
  • To encourage students to take part in research, development and innovation projects
  • To enable research methods and entrepreneurship courses to be taken by all students as the common course of the university, to encourage and support entrepreneurship in all aspects. 
  • To strengthen the relationship between academic units, research centers and graduate programs institute in order to increase the efficiency of research, development and innovation activities within the university.
  • To review the working subjects and efficiency of research and application centers and to restructure if necessary To ensure the establishment of research and application centers in the priority research, development and innovation fields of the university
  • To strengthen the relations between the Graduate Programs Institute and research centers, creating a new organizational structure and integrity (For example, Research Center Managers joining the
  • Board of the Institute)
  • To transform the results of research, development and innovation studies into scientific publication, product, application and design
  • To increase the number of publications and citations in international journals with high impact factor of the university
  • To increase the number of publications and other scientific activities in journals other than those scanned by the university's international indexes
  • To increase the results of research, development and innovation activities and the number of products, designs, utility
  • models and patents
  • To increase the conversion rate of postgraduate theses to publication, product, design, utility model and patent To encourage and support academic staff to carry out research, development and innovation projects
  • To encourage and reward academic staff who produce projects in priority areas determined for the university, participate in projects jointly, and who exceed a certain performance with research, development and innovation activities (publication, patent, design, product) with distinct privileges.
  • To encourage and support the research, development and innovation activities of young academic staff (research assistants, graduate and bachelor degree students), especially in the priority areas determined for the university

Beykoz University prepares and executes short- and medium-term action plans to achieve its goals in research, development and innovation. In this context, we make the necessary regulations and establishes units, especially research and development incentives, academic performance evaluation, research and science ethics.

Research, development, innovation goals and action plans are periodically evaluated, reviewed and changes are made if necessary.
