BEYKOZ UNIVERSITY RESEARCH OF THE YEAR AWARD PROCEDURES AND PRINCIPLES

Purpose and Scope

ARTICLE 1 - (1) These Procedures and

Principles regulate the issues related to the Researcher of the Year Award given within

the scope of the Beykoz University Research and Development (R&D) Incentive Directive.

Basis 

ARTICLE 2 - (1) These Procedures and Principles have been prepared on the basis of Beykoz University Research and Development (R&D) Incentive Directive.

Definitions

ARTICLE 3 - (1) In these Procedures and Principles the following refer to:

a) Academic Unit: Beykoz University Faculties, Schools and Vocational Schools,

b) Research Support Committee: Beykoz University Research Support Committee

c) Academic Performance Evaluation

System: Beykoz University Academic

Performance Evaluation System, 

d)Research Performance Score: The score calculated over the research-related criteria of the Beykoz University Academic

Performance System,

e) Rector: The Rector of Beykoz University,

f) Senate: Beykoz University Senate,

g) University: Beykoz University.

Researcher of the Year Award

ARTICLE 4 - (1) Every year a researcher who is a full-time faculty member at the University is awarded the Researcher of the Year Award. The Researcher of the Year Award is not a financial award, but a Researcher of the Year Certificate.

(2) For the Researcher of the Year Award, the scientific studies conducted in the year in which the award is given are taken as a basis. Scientific studies based on the Researcher of the Year Award are scientific publications (articles, papers, books and book chapters, translations and other publications), patents and other certificates, citations and research and development activities. ARTICLE 5 - (1) Research Performance Score is calculated for the award. In the calculation of the Research Performance Score, the criteria and unit score values of the studies under the following headings related to the research in the Academic Performance Evaluation System of Beykoz University are taken as basis: a) Articles

b)  Papers

c)  Books and book chapters

d)  Translations and other publications

e)  Patents and other certificates

f)   Citations

g)  Research and development activities

Application and Evaluation

ARTICLE 6 - (1) Applications for the Researcher of the Year Award are made to the Faculty Deanships and the Directorates of the Institute, Schools and Vocational School or directly to the Research Support

Committee by using the relevant application form. The list of research studies in the headings specified in Article 5 above, which was made in the said year, 

is added to the application form and the Academic Performance Score is calculated. (2) Applications are forwarded to the Research Support Committee. Applications are evaluated by the Research Support Committee and recommended to the

Rectorate. The award is finalized by the decision of the University Administrative Board.

Force

ARTICLE 7 - (1) These Procedures and Principles come into force on the date approved by the University Senate.

Execution

ARTICLE 8 - (1) These Procedures and Principles are executed by the Rector of Beykoz University.
