Beykoz University presents the Researcher of the Year Award, Young Researcher of the Year Award, University Social Impact and Engagement Award, and Research Excellence Continuity Award each academic year in order to encourage scientific research activities and recognize academic achievement.
• Researcher of the Year Award: Presented to full-time faculty members.
• Young Researcher of the Year Award: Presented to full-time research assistants.
• University Social Impact and Engagement Award: May be presented in two separate categories to academics who represent Beykoz University most actively in the media and who make the greatest contribution to social responsibility projects.
• Research Excellence Continuity Award: Presented to faculty members who rank among the top three in the Researcher of the Year Award evaluations for three consecutive years.
The awards are evaluated based on scientific activities carried out during the relevant academic year. The following criteria are taken into consideration:
• Scientific publications (primarily those published in journals indexed by recognized databases),
• Granted patents,
• Externally funded research projects and their budgets,
• Internally funded research projects and their budgets,
• Applications submitted for externally funded research projects,
• Other research activities.
The evaluation criteria and their respective weightings are determined upon the recommendation of the Research and Development Support Commission and approved by the University Executive Board.
Candidates for the Researcher of the Year Award and the Young Researcher of the Year Award may be identified by the Coordination Office based on data obtained from the University's information systems. Alternatively, candidates may also be invited to submit applications.
If applications are invited, they must be submitted using the designated application form. The application form should include:
• Scientific publications completed during the relevant academic year,
• Granted patents,
• Externally funded research projects and their budgets,
• Internally funded research projects and their budgets,
• Applications submitted for externally funded research projects,
• Other significant research activities.
The completed application form must be submitted to the Coordination Office.
The Researcher of the Year Award, Young Researcher of the Year Award, and Research Excellence Continuity Award are honorary recognitions and do not include a monetary prize. Recipients are awarded a Researcher of the Year Certificate, Young Researcher of the Year Certificate, or Research Excellence Continuity Certificate, respectively. These awards are presented during the final quarter of the academic year upon the decision of the Research and Development Support Commission and with the approval of the Rector.
