On April 29, 2026, an important event was held within the Aviation Cabin Services Program with the participation of industry representatives. The event featured Chief Safety Engineer İstemi Gerçek and Safety Engineer Zeynep Ayar from Turkish Airlines Corporate Safety Presidency as speakers. Throughout the program, current approaches and practices in aviation safety were shared with students through interactive methods.
The event, which included highly engaging question-and-answer sessions, practical examples, and in-class interactions, attracted strong participation from students. By combining theory with field practice, the program provided a highly effective and productive learning environment.
Key topics addressed during the event included safety culture and proactive safety approaches, human factors in aviation and safety awareness, reporting culture, assessment of operational risks, and corporate safety management perspectives. In addition, the sharing of industry experiences contributed significantly to students’ career awareness.
At the end of the program, small gifts were presented to the students by the guests, which was warmly appreciated and positively contributed to student motivation.
Such activities, which strengthen industry–academia collaboration, are considered to make valuable contributions to students’ professional development.
