Assist. Prof. Ahmet Selçuk Başarıcı, faculty member of the Maritime and Port Management Program, attended the Black Sea Ports and Logistics 2026 Exhibition and Conference held at DoubleTree by Hilton Istanbul Piyalepaşa between June 9–11, 2026.
The first day of the international event was dedicated to technical site visits, while the following two days brought together industry representatives, experts, and delegates to discuss current developments in the sector. All presentations were delivered in English and focused on key issues shaping the future of logistics and port operations in the Black Sea region.
The conference addressed a wide range of topics, including strengthening cooperation among Black Sea countries, enhancing supply chains along the Middle Corridor, investments in port, railway, and highway infrastructure, improving data exchange, and increasing the use of artificial intelligence applications in logistics processes.
In addition to participants from Black Sea countries, the event attracted significant interest from representatives of European countries, the United Kingdom, and Africa, providing an important platform for international collaboration and knowledge sharing.
The exhibition area, held alongside the conference, highlighted the growing importance of port automation solutions. Digitalization initiatives and automation technologies aimed at improving the efficiency of port operations were among the key topics that drew the attention of participants.
