Disaster Preparedness Club

Purpose of the Club

As Beykoz University Disaster Preparedness Club, our aim is to ensure that Beykoz University students, academic and administrative staff, and the general public are informed, educated, and prepared before, during, and after emergencies and disasters that occur regionally, nationally, or internationally — especially during the “golden hours,” which refer to the first 72 hours following a disaster or emergency.

The club seeks to:

  • Promote preparedness and awareness for emergencies and disasters,
  • Encourage participation in drills and exercises,
  • Guide communities during emergencies,
  • Collaborate with public and private institutions, NGOs, associations, organizations, and clubs that operate in the field of disaster and emergency management,
  • Establish and organize teams according to the nature of the disaster or emergency,
  • Accurately and rapidly report emergency and disaster notifications to authorized institutions,
  • Ensure the safe and efficient deployment of trained instructors and volunteers to the field,
  • Provide training and seminars on topics such as fire safety, forest fires, floods, building collapses, earthquakes, search and rescue operations, train and car accidents, workplace explosions, first aid, nature sports, and alternative sports — both to Beykoz University students and staff and, upon request, to the wider public.

Additionally, the club aims to plan activities, maintain correspondence and cooperation with relevant institutions, and foster solidarity and team spirit among its members through effective and healthy communication.
