Purpose of the Club
Beykoz University City and Culture Club is a student community that aims to help students gain knowledge, experience, and awareness in the fields of city and culture. The club focuses on examining urban life, cultural heritage, and the historical and social structures of cities, while encouraging students to evaluate their surroundings with a more conscious and diverse perspective.
The club conducts activities aimed at exploring the cultural accumulation, daily life, architecture, art, and collective memory of different cities, with a primary focus on Istanbul. The City and Culture Club seeks to create an environment where students can engage with the city through research, observation, production, and sharing. Bringing together students from different disciplines to think about and produce joint work on topics such as urban studies, history, art, architecture, sociology, and culture is among the club’s main objectives.
Through technical trips, cultural tours, talks, seminars, workshops, and social events, the club aims to contribute to students’ academic and social development. It also seeks to raise awareness about preserving urban memory, promoting cultural heritage, and fostering urban consciousness.
