Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kasım HAN
Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kasım Han, Advisor to the Rector of Beykoz University, is also a faculty member in the Political Science and International Relations Program at the Faculty of Social Sciences. His academic research focuses on international relations, strategic studies, Turkish and Middle Eastern politics, energy geopolitics, political economy, great-power competition, and political and economic risk management. In addition to his academic career, Prof. Dr. Han is engaged in strategic consulting and professional speaking.
Throughout his academic and administrative career, Prof. Dr. Han has held various senior positions at Aydın University, Altınbaş University, and Kadir Has University, including Vice Rector, Rector, and Advisor to the Chair of the Board of Trustees, as well as serving as a dean and department chair. He served as Vice Rector at Beykoz University from 2024 to 2026 and currently continues his work at the University as Advisor to the Rector. He previously served as Director of the Research Center for Political Science and International Relations at Istanbul University and as a faculty member at the Faculty of Economics at Istanbul University and in the MBA Program at Istanbul Bilgi University.
Alongside his academic work, Prof. Dr. Han regularly provides analysis and commentary to national and international media outlets on Türkiye, the Middle East, foreign policy, the economy, and energy geopolitics, and participates as a speaker at various international conferences. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of TED University, as a Board Member of the Center for Economics and Foreign Policy Studies (EDAM), and as Vice Chair and Chair of the Academic Research Board of the Turkish Democracy Foundation.
Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kasım Han received education in economics, international relations, strategy, finance, and negotiation strategies at Istanbul University, Boğaziçi University, Koç University, and Harvard University. He has also served as a visiting faculty member at the University of St Andrews and Tel Aviv University. In addition, he has taught strategy at the Atatürk Institute for Strategic Research at the National Defense University and served as an academic advisor at the Armed Forces Command and Staff Academy. He currently serves as a Senior Fellow for the Middle East and North Africa at the Italian Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI) in Milan.
Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Aslıhan BEKAROĞLU ÖZATAR
Assist. Prof. Aslıhan Bekaroğlu Özatar, Assistant Professor and Advisor to the Rector of Beykoz University, was born in Ankara in 1985. She began her primary education in Ankara and continued her education in Tekirdağ. She completed her secondary education at Ankara Mehmet Emin Resulzade Anatolian High School and received her bachelor’s degree from the Department of Business Administration at Marmara University. During her undergraduate studies, she completed long-term voluntary internships in the Export Department of Türkiye Şişe ve Cam Fabrikaları and in the Accounting and Finance Department of Siemens Türkiye.
Following her undergraduate education, she attended one-year certificate programs in Marketing and Business Administration at Bournemouth University in the United Kingdom. She received her master’s degree in Marketing and Logistics Management from Galatasaray University. In 2016, she earned her PhD in Production Management and Marketing from Marmara University and was appointed as an assistant professor in 2017.
Having taught numerous undergraduate and graduate-level courses in the field of Marketing, Özatar has undertaken various administrative responsibilities during the establishment processes of Beykoz Logistics Vocational School and Beykoz University. Her responsibilities have included managing ISO Quality Management System certification processes, serving as Director of the Institutional Development Directorate, Erasmus Institutional Coordinator, and Head of the Strategic Planning and Quality Assurance Unit. She has published academic studies in the fields of Ethical Marketing, Ethical Sales Management, Digital Marketing, and Consumer Behavior, and has served as a researcher in two international projects.
Assist. Prof. Aslıhan Bekaroğlu Özatar has also previously served as the Erasmus Institutional Coordinator at Beykoz University and as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Business and Administrative Sciences.
