Prof. Dr. Fuat İnce, will be the guest of the Current Research / Project Topics Graduate Course on Tuesday, 27.04.2021 at 18.30. We welcome our students and anyone who wants to participate in the open lecture on 'A Walk through the Field of Cryptology'.
Professor Fuat İNCE, is a graduate of Boğazici University (BS) in Turkey and University of Illinois (MS and PhD) in USA all degrees in electrical/electronics engineering. Upon returning to Turkey he was employed at TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center, first as a research engineer/scientist, later being promoted to senior levels. Under his direction as the vice president of the Center and the founding director of TÜBİTAK’s Informatics Institute, internet was first introduced to the Istanbul area in 1993.
His academic work includes that at King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals in Saudi Arabia, where he started the remote sensing program; at Işık University where he started the Department of Information Technologies as its first chairman; at Maltepe University as the Chairman of Computer Science and Engineering Department; and at Marmara University also as the Chairman of Computer Science and Engineering Department.
He was instrumental in starting the space studies program at the Turkish Air Force Academy, where he taught space related courses for nearly 15 years. He also worked at a defense electronics company as its director of information systems.
In all these positions he initiated and managed many national and international research projects in information technologies, space, and defense, and has received service and achievement awards from different institutions. He has held positions in various international projects and forums serving as Turkish delegate at the UN Space Committee COPUOS, and NATO Information Technologies Panel among others.
Professor İnce is currently a member on the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Beykoz University, also serving as a science consultant in a technology company. He has numerous publications in information technologies and space including a Turkish book “UZAY, Bir İnsanlık Serüveni”.
